Hi All,
As I have time on my hands I want to try and get a couple of electrical issue sorted on my 1999 P38.
The rear wiper motor doesnt want to play, I've checked the fuse and it seems ok the rear c/lights and lugauge light which I think runs from the same fuse are working, I've replaced the wiper motor all with no joy yet the rear washers are still working.
Secondly, the front couresty lights have packed up, well, all the front lights in the cluster have stopped working. I have held the button in to activate and de-activate the lights but no joy, for info, when I open any of the doors the rear lights come on as they should.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

I know the engine bay fuse box can cause problems with the electrics that make it look like the becm is playing up. Take the lid off it and smell it! If it smells burnt its on its way out.

Had a similar problem on my classic , only the courtesy lights wouldnt go out ! Its the relay at fault . the rear wiper is wired through the courtesy circuit to prevent you from operating the wiper motor when the rear upper tailgate is open . As i say, this is certain for the classic , it maybe the same set up for the p38. The relay on mine was under the steering column.

Have you tested for power at the wiper motor with a volt meter? it could just be a dicky wiper arm... also check for power at the plug on the underside of the interior light, again it could just be a faulty unit, i had to learn the hard way when i fixed my blower units i should of done the simple test first instead of wasting a day lookin for mega faults lol, :D:D
