Any ideas on this one. Drivers rear window won't open on its own switch. When the front lock button is on the rear window can be operated from driver door. However when you unlock the lock button the drivers rear window goes down on its own. The only way to close it ....is press lock button on drivers door and them it can be closed using drivers switches

Any knowledge of this fault appreciated

Seems to me that the rear switch is stuck in the open position. Try changing the switch:)

+1 on this

The way it works is that the switch that is on that door operates that window directly, but the drivers door switch goes to the bcu.

So I assume when the lock is on then it cuts power to the rear door.
When it's off then the switch is activated so controls the window directly.
Whip the rear door card off and disconnect the switch.
Or to be sure swap it with the passenger, I appreciate the switch pack is handed so it won't fit, but the connections are the same and will tell you if it's the switch pack or not

Test the switch with a multimeter before forking out for a replacement

The switch usually comes off with the door lining
Won't take 2 mins

Can the switch unit be prised out without door card removal ?

Wouldnt try that mate, might make a mess of door card. Two screws under big handle, one behind latch handle and then card can be pulled away taking care to break as few of the pkastic fixings as possible. Definetely sounds like rear switch at fault.
