Hello,
I have received some new shock absorbers and they have sent me two n/s rears. I have compaired them and can see the only difference between them the side that the abs sensor bracket is located. Is this the only difference?
Many thanks,

I did mine earlier this year, and can definitely vouch that the ABS sensor bracket will be on the wrong side. I think, from memory, that the brake pipe goes through it as well, so that'll definitely be wrong for the O/S.

The only other possible physical difference is the coil spring seat - have a look at what's on your vehicle at the moment: you may find the springs are handed (coil the opposite way to each other), and the N/S spring seat won't work with an O/S spring, if that makes sense?

I'm not sure on that last bit. I didn't replace the springs on mine, so what came off went back on again. To be honest, I'd send it back, insist they send you the correct shock and get your postage for sending the wrong one back to them.

Hi Craig,
Thanks for the reply.
The springs coil exactly the same way on both the n/s and o/s. Both shocks look identicle apart from the abs sensor bracket.
The brake pipe does go through the bracket but the bracket is on the back so can be used for both sides.
It looks like Delphi make these shocks as a single unit for either side then by adding the abs sensor bracket is what makes then n/s or o/s.
Cheers,
Martin.
