Hi again, I'm replacing the rear prop on my S reg 300 TDI Disco (manual) and I've noticed that inside the shaft (the doughnut end) a metal band (looks almost like a hair band?) has come loose and broken, and the plastic bit (I think it's a spigot?) has cracked at the top. I think it can still be used but I'd like to double check. I've been to Land Rover with the prop and they claim that I can't buy these two bits seperately I have to buy a brand new prop which I find hard to believe, does anyone know where I might be able to find these parts?
Cheers
Al
P.S. I already have purchased a new doughnut without these bits included.

I just got a spare rear prop so i could change the UJ and donut and replace the whole lot with the one on the car ( shot rear UJ) The bush in the end of the prop came with my new donut. The old one is a pig to get out, its a steel collar with a rubber bush inside. I had to saw through the steel collar ( its about an inch long)then pull it out with mole grips.
I used a good hacksaw blade gripped with mole grips and took about half an hour to saw through it. Then just collapse it a bit and waggle it out. New one got gently hammered in place after a good clean out of the mounting....lots of metal filings!
