rear half shafts for defender td5 130 hcpu

Hi, everyone
I have to fit new drive flanges and rear half shafts to my defender but not sure what to buy. I have selected these from paddocks, please see links

do you guys think these will fit? and is it difficult to do the change myself?

last 2 links are of no use ,either fit ftc1725 and ftc1724 with 2 x ftc859 ,if you wnat to stop wear in shaft drive member splines,remove hubs and change inner grease seal for frc8221 or rtc3511 and renove seal from stub axle or grease drive members regularly

if you say of no use, does that imply not going to fit or that they just to weak and will break easily. the one on the link and the one suggested by you have a significant price difference though. i'm in a small South American country and the local dealed does not have the shafts in supply

again some confusion, i have ordered the ftc1725 and ftc1724 rear drive shaft and some heavy duty drive flanges. unfortunately i forgot to order bolts for the flanges and the circlip for the half shafts. are these just the ones you see on ebay, or is something special needed for th heavy duty flange. any help and links to products greatly appreciated

cant you reuse the old ones ?

the flanges are welded to the half shaft, so no circlips and both sides have bolts missing. does anyone know if the Terrafirma Heavy Duty Drive Member Thin Type need circlips?

having some issues again with the new half shafts and drive flanges fitted. after everything was replaced with the new stuff I tried to take it for a drive but to my surprise the pickup was not moving at all; leaving it in reverse I stepped out and only saw the rear drive shaft spinning but not translating into motion. Any help greatly appreciated!

presumably you have salisbury disc axle, in which case you could remove rear cover and look

do you refer to the disc brakes when you say disc axle, in that case yes I have front and rear disc brakes. what should I be looking for, and will the new half shafts work?

yes disc axle has disc brakes ,ftc1724 and ftc1725 are for disc brake salisbury axle is thats whats fitted to yours

I just removed the old ones and refitted the new half shafts, do I need to remove those and try to fit again and see if the gears lock?,

it only moves when I engage difflock, removing the cover would be a bit to time consuming for me at the moment

I just put the old and new half shafts side by side and to my very amazement they differ in length; the RH shaft is almost 5 cm short!!!, are the shafts that you recommended FTC1724 and FTc 1725 for a hcpu 130? please explain!!!!!!

what axle is fitted as ive already said ftc1724 etc are for disc brake salisbury

well I never mentioned that I had a Salisbury axle, which more or less means that these half shafts that I bought are of no use for me, together with the drive flange since I will have to use the old shaft with the drive shaft welded

so guys if anyone wants a brand new set of Salisbury half shafts complete with a pair of terra firma thin type drive flange!

the half shaft and drive flanges are still up for sale, tried again to fit but to no avail!!!!

not exactly but you were looking for salisbury drum axle haft shafts and salisbury disc is fitted to 300tdis and early t5s,
