Rear entertainment - should there be a remote

Hi
I'm new to this so please be gentle!! :)

We're purchasing a 59 reg Range Rover 5.0s/c Autobiography from a main dealer. It has the rear entertainment system but there doesnt seem to be a remote. Should there be one??

The sales guy says because it was a manufacture fit, they dont come with a remote, but surely its safer for the rear passengers to change channel etc than the driver doing it on the touchscreen on the dashboard whilst driving, or am I supposed to pull over everytime someone decided they wish to view another channel?!?

Tell them if it hasn't got a remote you won't buy it. That will definately push the sales guy into making the effort to find out rather than just bulls*@ting.
 
Thanks datatek, I was sure it should have a remote, so I took your advice.......miraculous.....they've just found the remote and an extra set of headphones!!!:rolleyes:

If everything goes as planned, I should be picking it up tomorrow, so expect loads more questions from me as I'm new to Range Rovers! ;)
 
You've just committed to spending 10% of your life with a petrol pump in your hand! Buy some decent gloves for the winter - takes a while to fill 'em.

quite scary having that power available in a top heavy range rover, I could imagine it would be quite easy to loose it round a corner :eek:

What BHP is it ?

more than the cayenne S ?
 
I know I'm gonna need gloves, and I'm gonna spend half my life and half my money at the petrol station, BUT, when I do get to drive it.....boy its gonna be fun!!!! :D:D:D

Yeah its 503 or 510bhp depending where you get the info from, I will give it a good go around corners and report back!! I already shocked the salesman, by taking it for a 'proper' test drive, we flew round some corners and I think I gave him a face-lift when I accelerated!! I bet he didnt expect that of a 5 foot nothing lass!!

I'm not sure that if you need a remote for sex, that you're doing it quite right?!? :p

Still not sure what that has to do with your height or sex, in relation to the power of the veh. But hey ho maybe it's just me being obtuse or maybe it's not just guys who get SMS ;) Enjoy the drive. :)

it was more the fact that I drive like a rally driver, yet I look like I'm much more sensible :eek:
