hi can anyone point me in the right direction please. my rear electric windows keep blowing 30A fuses, when i replace the fuse they work fine but within a day or so they blow the fuse again.
i have done a search but it seems that they all relate to the window ecu which is working fine ( i think ) as i fixed the dry joint problem on it not to long ago. now my question is is there anything else that could be causing this problem or is it that i f*cked something else up when i fixed the dry joint problem. thanks in advance

i guess everyone is as stumped as me then, well i'm going down the land rover breakers tomorrow and pick up a new window ecu and see if that sorts the problem

I know mine work when they feel like it and I disconnected the one on the drivers side as it would go down when it felt like it!

It's possable the any additional load on the motor could blow the fuse so is the rising and falling of the glass as smooooth as it should be.

Take the ECU out and look for any dry solder this guide might help. "Repair a Land Rover Discovery electric window ECU to make the rear windows open again"

i used the link to solve my first problem with the windows but now its blowing 30A fuses, but the puzzling thing about it is that it does'nt blow straight away, it may take a couple of days to blow the fuse even if the windows hav'nt been operated at all.

swapped the window ecu and so far all is well , i hav'nt took the cover off the old ecu yet but at least its sorted now and i can try and fix the old one in my own time

try window motors you need big load to blow 30 amp obviously no short as dosent blow every time you open windows or gear in regulator siezing
