I've not done it myself yet but I would say you need spring compressors (proper ones) cos even with it jacked fully you won't have enough room to get the cones in.

if ya got longer dampers on ya should be able to do em by jacking it up..
did it on a 90 on a laning trip at the side of the road..

Could always take the bottom nut off the shocker then jack it up, won't have to worry about them then.
