Rear diff

Can anyone give advice on changing a rear diff on a td4. - got a whinning - thought it was bearings, had them changed but the noise is still there.
Any advice appreciated.

Have you tried changing your tyres?

Noises that sound like wheel bearings often turn out to be tyres that haven't been rotated properly around the car and the rear diff has "castellated" the treads.

Normally I swap the rears to the front every 6,000 miles but I neglected to attend to Mrs Blip's TD4 this year and she did more than 12k in it - Menasing I would have normally swapped 'em twice. Developed a drone from the rear which has now transferred to the front!

LR recommend swapping the fronts to the rear and the rear n/s to front o/s etc.
