had a prob that engine would not rev past 4000 rpm thay should hot 4800rpm

had land rover diagnostic done thay said low pressure fuel pump/filter i have fitted new fuel pump and filter oem parts and it still wont rev past 4000rpm
anyone have any ideas

Ignore the tratter boys they seem to think repeating the same joke over and over again makes them somehow funny. What sort of engine is it? Is there any debris in the tank causing a blockage and is the pump priming properly?

Injector problem maby I'm not to clued up on diesel I'm a petrol man myself. If landrover charged you for the diagnostics then surely if they got it wrong your entitled to have the car put in for test again.

i dont get it !

i never have hit 4000 revs in my TD4 since owning it :confused: i dont see why u need to rev it so high ? even on the motorway at 90 its only just over 3000

:confused::confused::confused:

being a manual you can change gears earlier so that you dont drink your fuel - i hate the sound of automatic cars revving the ****e out of them selves whilst changing gears - seems unnecessary why they do this.

my concern is that somthing is faulty and it will eventually break.
so fix it now not when it fails completely.
engine goes flat and mil light comes on.
i would not drive in that rev range normaly but it sould be able too ..

fuel rail sensor? high pressure pump? if you've replaced what the diags were showing you need to get it back on the tester and get some live data off it to see what the engine is doing before it throws the fault.....

If you still get a MIL then you need to check the code/s again and go from there.....

Problem I had a few months ago was diagnosed as low pressure - garage wanted to change the HP pump. After a lot of break downs, work and money spent found it to be the plug at the end of the fuel rail. Replaced the plug, cars running great

Why are you going up to 4k revs anyway? Tbh mate I would never do that in my TD4. Would dread to think what might happen.
