hello , might be a good idea to have a real time chat box on this site , maybe something like a "banter box " so we can actually speak to each other in real time , what you think ??:D
 
i thort of doin a live link off the cctv in me workshop when am building me engines and series etc,
but ah thort who wants to see a misserable bastid drinkin coffee and moanin about the price of parts all day ;)

why not,then we could tell you where you are going wrong with your engine rebuilds etc.:behindsofa::bolt:
 
May as well drag this back up as it's a good idea i feel, i've worked with a fair few sites in the past with chat pages, people dropping in and out and talking ****e all the time, can make it more amusing.

Only issue i would see with it is moderating it.

Do you use LZ live? It can be used in a similar way to live chat but with the addition of being able to monitor all the threads at the same time.

Yes mate, i use live all the time, but with chat you can sit and talk with others not just about what's going on with the forum so to speak, it's more a virtual pub room ( even rope Minty in to do the bar ;) ) or a mass MSN messenger service.

It may work, it may not, some forums are suited to chat more than others, but if it's not tried, then we'll never know so to speak :D

With smaller or less busy forums it can lead to the main threads almost being made redundant as people use the chat facility instead of posting on the threads. And as storm says it wouldn't work on LZ cos the forum is too busy.
