Hi all,

Does anyone know if there is software you can get to reading the faults on a 99 Freelander.
That doesn't cost my arm and leg to get?!?!

Thanks......

A cheap scanner will do it, if it's cheap you want. It won't read everything, but it will egt the fault codes out of the main computer if there in there. If they're too cheap, they is crap and won't work. Whats wrong wiff yer Freelander?

Thanks, I was not sure as I thought that the early ones like mine didnt, as thier not ODB11. Do you know that i need to check it would have for it to work?

My rear wiper wont turn off when its on and I have tried a new wiper motor and switch's.

I also cant open the rear window via the remote. I have tried to go into the ccu self test but cant get that to start?

And now the car does not like running at low revs when its cold.
aaarrrrhhhhh!!!

hi can any one tell me how to remove the ECU from my friends 2007 Land Rover FreeLander 2.2TD4 GS. cheers

I remember reading summut about this somewhere and I think the fault was with the reversing switch. When your wipers are on and you put it in reverse it automatically puts your rear wiper on. I remember them saying the did summut to that part and it worked. Might also be the reason your rear screen wont go down, if it thinks the wiper is on.

Fault code readers are covered in Car Mechanics magazine this month - feb 2011 issue. Differences between different models, and their verdict. General use, not Freelander specific. I have a copy if anyones interested.

On a right hand drive car, in the passenger foot well. About 6 inches above the carpet. Follow the end of the screwdrivers, up 6 inches.

Connected my OBD2 reader, and it just comes up as error. Won;t connect... following instructions to the T but no go. Blast...

Do these things need a special reader? Anyone know of software that I can run on a laptop and plug that in instead?
