I have had this P38 for nearly a year now and had a few problems (as expected with a P38) but nothing major, however over the last few weeks I have noticed a lack of power when accelerating and almost seems to have trouble pulling it's own weight.

For example, pulling into the outside lane of a motorway to overtake it seems to take about 15 seconds to climb 10mph.

If anyone could offer any advice on why it has lost so much power over 2 weeks it would be much appreciated.

if it feels like the turbo is not coming up on full boost check for ahy split pipes on the turbo etc if no split pipes then disconnect air flow meter then take it for a drive if you get power backits the air flow meter needs replacing cos this may not come up on any fault code reading

Yes check the pipe from under manifold to MAP sensor on fuel filter bracket, make sure it is connected with no leaks and it is not split.

Thanks for advice so far..

I have had a look around and I can't seem to see any disconnected or split pipes.

However, I have not yet looked at the air flow meter. Did you mean the MAF sensor because a few people have been saying it may just be dirt in the sensor.

Thanks

Just get a new bit of any old pipe that fits 50p will let you know if its the pipe, most maf sensors don't respond to cleaning its best to change to new one, swap one over and try a known one out
