The rear wiper has stopped working on my 1979 2-door Classic.
There's always a load of things to check such as switches and cables and earth, but I can find nothing obvious... there's current at the motor via the car's wiring and a good earth, and yet when I by-pass the car's wiring with a battery the motor leaps into action.
I know when the top gate is open the wiper won't function which is supposed to be the case, and I am guessing that the courtesy lights control that.... and anyway they they still go on/off as normal with the tailgate opening, so I'm not sure that's the problem.
I can't find any reference to the wiper being prevented from functioning at all in the Haynes manual or the car's own user manual... according to them both it just works regardless, doesn't even mention the tailgate being open stops the motor...
Does anyone know if there is some other safeguard or method built which might prevent the motor working, or anyone had the same problem themselves?
It's worth knowing this before I get tooooo far carried awayripping entire wiring and motors out
Many thanks,
Roy R..
