Afternoon guys, wondering if anyone could possibly help me? I've just replaced the engine in the wifes P38 DSE and I have all the wiring in except one plug. It comes from the same small spur that comes from the main loom with two connectors one which connects to the sensor on the fuel filter and then the one I need to figure out. It is a three pin male plug and I just need to know where it goes? Any help would be gratefully received!
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi mate,
I'm afraid I don't currently have rave so I'm hoping someone might be able to point me in the right direction? It abviously plugs into something on the inlet side of the engine and more specifically something located close by the fuel filter based sensor because of the two spurs, the mystery one and the plug for this sensor, being bound together resulting in the mystery plug placing itself in this area but I can't see anywhere for it to go. All wires are attached to the starter motor, to the alternator, to the fuel pump, to the oil level warning sensor so I'm a bit stuck now.

From the top of my head, the only sensor that goes into the inlet is the air temperature sensor.
What year is your DSE ? Does it have the MAF sensor (black plastic manifold) or not (alloy manifold) ?

Already have that sensor connected and that is a two pin in a rectangular connector, this connector I need to figure out is a three pin and the connector housing has almost a three leaf clover shape to it. It's a 96 with the none MAF alluminium inlet manifold.

Try including a photo so everyone can see it and its position, that way you might get the answer your looking for or download Rave

Had a quick nose at my 2000 and the only other wire that I can find coming off the loom at that point goes to the pump - red / red & white / black - but you say that you've connected the pump.

It goes to a connector on the rear face of the black plastic fuel filter housing, opposite side to the MAP sensor. Must be blind not to see it! It aint small!!

I'll have a look next time I'm at the car as unfortunately it isn't stored where I live. Fingers crossed I'm just being stupid and have missed the sensor you're talking about Data. Otherwise I really am at a loss.

No question, that's where it goes, I have EGR and pre EGR P38's and I walked up and physically looked at the pre EGR one this morning:)
