Hi,

I have a 1999 td5 defender and the cd player lost power the other day. After a bit of probing I discovered it was the constant power feed that comes from the drivers fusebox that wasn't working. So I cut this behind the stereo and ran a new cable from the fusebox behind the gear lever. I jammed it in to a 20amp fuse for the air con. Since I don't have air con i didn't think this would matter. Do you think I should lower the ampage of the fuse. Its original fuse was a 20amp in the driverside fusebox, but that powers other stuff as well. The hazards and the interior light I think. The cd player has a 10amp fuse on the back of it as well so I'm thinking that'll be a safegaurd.
I'm hoping to either reinstate the original wire route, or make permanent the bodge by adding my new cable to the fuse box.
