Have a problem with my 1988 2.5TD.

Fan belt snapped last week and the engine overheated with steam coming out of the front top right of the radiator (as you look at it from the front).

Replaced the belt, but now loosing coolant from the same area that the steam was coming from. I removed the top hose (top right) thinking that there might be a hole, but the leak seems to be coming from where the metal tube (that the hose sits over) enters into the rad. I can see some bubbles coming out here when I squeeze the hose.

The question is can I get to this to try to crimp the ends or seal with compound? The rad seems to be encased round the edges in a box which makes getting to this spot difficult. Can this be removed?

Any help gratefully received.
