Hello,

I might be picking up a Disco 200tdi on Sat if I win it on ebay but I have a few questions. I don't have power steering on my N/A, so whats the best thing to do with the power steering pump? I will not be fitting a power steering box. I will need the pump pulley to drive the alternator though. Also, do I need to fit an oil cooler or can I blank the pipe to cooler flanges off on the engine?

Cheers

POS my tdi sold on ebay but if he doesn't collect Saturday then I'll let you know but I think its gone

Yeah I noticed  Could you let me know either way! I'll PM you if I win the engine I'm bidding on. I've got my fingers crossed :frown: I can't quite afford a winch yet either! I was thinking about fitting a length of pipe filled with oil and allowing it to circulate but I've been told that it will get hotter and hotter until it boils over inevitably resulting in a collapsed bearing because the pump will be driving nothing. I'll come up with a way to by-pass it, got any more suggestions? :)

i know a couple of very hard working 200s that have the PS pumps looped with as yet no ill effect - if your bothered just make a zig zag up using a length of copper tube for the fluid to run through back to the pump

Good plan, I'll do that. I could in theory create a heat sink to run along the pipe which should help disperse the heat if there is any heat created.
