try diesel injection specialists parts are available as they buy them

Didn't need it in the end but Yeh 21 quid is a p*** take, did find some oil on top of the diaphragm when I checked though, any ideas? I have pics bit can't seem to upload from my phone.

Cheers lads

a bit is alright apparently, if there was oodles of it then it could indicate turbo seals. just had same problem on mine but most of the oil was going down the exhaust side.
Cheers Robbie, I wouldn't say there was masses but having never owned a landy I wouldn't know what was too much, I'm having issues with mph as in I can only get 40-45 out of her so using great how to's and advice on here I'm slowly checking all possibilities , once I've checked the timing tomorrow I reckon I'll be at the "new" turbo stage, there is slight play in it but as it nearly took my hand in last week I'm guessing it's still OK ish?

before jumping into a new turbo theres loads of other stuff to check. could be a boost leak or something like that...

What engine is it? when was the last time it had new filters and get yourself a delphi lift pump at about 20 quid first. Does it struggle though all the revs or does it feel like it has no turbo on it at all.. On my first ever 300tdi disco the actuator arm fell off the turbo, it felt slow as hell until i put it back on

300tdi, I've given it a service so new filters, oil etc...cleaned out intercooler, all pipes checked and can't find any splits etc, lift pump removed and seems to be working fine although found it was fitted with sealant rather than a gasket so gasket replaced.
It's just sluggish from word go, gets to 40ish then seems pointless using 4th or 5th as its just gutless, any ideas greatly appreciated.

300tdi are known for lift pump, have u checked the actuator is actually attached where it should be?

Thats why i love having a boost gauge on my 200tdi fender, if not i wouldnt have noticed she was boosting at half what it should be and i wouldnt have checked things like the turbo and oil ect to see its under full after 1 ride out, as it was ****ting it out the exhaust.

i always kept a spare lift pump on my 300 for good cause, it may be worth changing it then if it does nothing u have a spare...

can u feel the turbo kick in at all?

I'll check the actuator tomorrow , it's definitely connected but I believe they can stick? I do have another lift pump but it came needing different fittings to the old one so I need to get some, to be honest never having a turbo I couldn't reliably say if it's boosting or not :(:(

You can tell if the turbo is not working/boosting as the car will be as flat as anything and incapable of pulling the skin of a rice pudding!
Never seen a seized 300 actuator, was common fault on the td5.

You can rev the engine under the bonnet whilst trying to squeeze the intercooler pipe. Ive seen that done to check on a mates td5 who's actuator was seized

On my 300 it went really sluggish so I Swapped the fuel filter and upon doing so revealed that the lift pump was faulty as it wouldn't prime the fuel filter with enough fuel.

Its not quite as simple as that, if the lift pump is on the cam, ie the cam lobe is lifting the lift pump arm up the manual lever wont do anything.
