On my way to Whitby fishing Saturday the 11 jan in my defender, about 4 am, just coming into selby on one of the roundabouts was a parked police car, said to the lads, watch this he's going to pull me, sure enough he did.
Happy enough though as they stoped me to check it wasn't stolen, they had just recovered a stolen defender that night, anyone on here?

Similar thing happened to me on the way to work just before Christmas , at about 5.30 am. I didn't mind either.

I told them they should stop any defender out and about between midnight and 6.00 am.

Looks like the police are doing what they're supposed to do for a change.

Well if you call picking on inoccent motorists doing a good job like!!! Haha joke joke
know its bad up north for these thieving fackers, must be because your close to liverpool!!!
Hard hat on ready for the abuse!!! Haha

nar I shouldn't joke, when my old disco poped its 10p head it was only sat on rd outside and I had darn pikies trying to have it away, then tried wheels! All in 2 days!!! Bloody need to bring ghe the gallows bk if you ask me!! Or even better the Indian law of A EYE FOR A EYE!!! that would stop these ****ers!

Police in wiltshire and Avon &somerset are pulling all L/R's after 10-11pm around here, stopped a few times but fine with that, a rash of thefts around here, 3 in one weekend.

I havent been stopped for a while
It must have been quite a while coz back then you had to take your documents down the plod shop within a few days,
Now they can check you out there and then on there plod PC

Theres quite a few hot heads out there,If your one and you get pulled to check the landy is yours try and keep it together coz there doing us a favour:D

agree,
the old addage of,
If yo `aint done nothing wrong,
then you have nothing to worry about.

ANPR cams built into police cars alert them "if" theres something wrong with your vehicle, but the late night checks may not have been reported as stolen, so, yes, be nice, you know it makes sence.

(more so if you have any non standard modifications that may be questionable to your insurance companies)............ eh

Just asked me my name so guess everything was on the anpr system, happy enough I was stopped as it shows they are aware and active in keeping our defenders in the right hands

Got pulled over in Gloucester a few days ago,

Partly because I had a brake light out, but they where checking to see if it was stolen,

This did happen at 3am so I don't blame them, quite apologetic about it to
