I am waiting to see if it's going to be scrap or a runner at the moment......
The colour looks great once clean. there are a few rust bubbles coming out in the bodywork but nothing major yet.

No, it'll be running. someday.
No, thankfully, it's on the surface skin on the rear doors. probably a stone chip gone bad or something.

So, pulled plugs this morning, it's the same cylinder as last time. Number 5 cylinder. Very strange, new gaskets each time. The liner was checked.
So suspects are cracked head or slipping liner, no evidence with parts off to suggest either though.

Definitely either a warped head or crap headgaskets not sealing, or bad headbolts/inferior quality..
or a combo of all.

I think your right, luckily for me, there is a spare 4.6 sat in the scrap yard near me. Might be a trip over there tomorrow.
The head gasket is the genuine Payen gasket just fitted with brand new genuine LR bolts...… head warp I think.
Maybe I will yoink the whole motor and rebuild that from scratch...… first project for my new workshop

It's only the one bank though. What mileage is it?
Maybe that one liner av gone, is common. I'd take it to the boys that did the head for you and show them. If it had run a lot with steamy head it will be w*nked
