Rear tub also looks good and clean

I'm struggling to find the correct wiper arms and blades for the Lucas wiper motors. The ones which came with the screen are perished and different types. I purchased one set from John Craddock listed as 2A/3 but were too long. The blades wipe past the glass top and sides. Can anyone confirm where to buy the correct arms and blades for separate wiper motors which mount in the windscreen frame as mine do.

Finally, can anyone confirm the types of seat base which are correct for the seat metalwork I have.
The 88 didn't come with seats. I purchased a set of good used seats which have MDF type bases. The rear swab aligns with the seat rail upright with a 1/4" bolt. I can't see how the lower seat swab attaches. Does it just sit on the metal cover plates (they don't have any holes to fix a seat to) or is there a different type of seat needed for this type of arrangement ?

Hi Steve, sterling work as usual, the seat squabs just sit in the frame and the backs pivot on the 1/4" bolts so you have access behind the seat between the seat and bulkhead.

The 2/2A wiper arms are different from the 3 and are shorter for some reason, the solutions came from adjustable wiper arms or the drilling out of the rivets and drilling new holes in the right place and riveting them again.

Thanks for the clarification for the seats and wipers, much appreciated. At least I've not wasted money on the wrong ones

Dashboard nearly finished, all instruments work, speedo and choke cables connected.
Ordered a new heater with non-leaking matrix. Should arrive next week to complete the bulkhead.
New seat belts installed

Hi, yes the round Smiths heater. By new I meant new to me, purchased a used on via ebay but confirmed as not leaking. The last one I purchased leaked throughout the entire matrix. It's just arrived and doesn't leak so will be fitting soon...

I fitted the used Zenith carb which I purchased as it had intact choke springs. It ran badly so needed an overhaul. Spent a few hours at the dining table stripping, cleaning and fitting the overhaul components. Good quality components in the Bearmach kit.
Re-fitted to the engine and it runs much better. A bit of final tweaking when I get the Landy out of the garage but a marked improvement.

As it was raining I didn't want to take the Landy out to finish the carb so thought it was time to get the wheels on the old girl.
Did a bit of paint touch up whilst the wheels were off and re-checked fixings were tight etc. The Limestone finish looks great against the black tyres and hub.


Finished off the engine bay with the bonnet canvas strip. Finishes off nicely.

Another few hours this weekend, made new floor plates as the existing ones were corroded and riddled with unnecessary holes. Went for chequer plate as didn't need painting. Fitted the lever gaiters which finishes off the floor area

Fitted new pedal rubbers as pedals very slippery without.

Tested the "new" Smiths heater. Fan blades needed a little tweak to stop them rubbing but runs quiet and balanced.
Made the thick seal which covers the pipe openings and fitted new door handles. A quick re-paint and it looks fresh again.
Wiring and plumbing to finish and install the 2x hoses to the windscreen ducts. That's for another day
Fitted new wing mirrors, the spare wheel carrier in the rear tub, and 2x reflectors to close off rear light holes someone had added. Rubber seal and backing plate should keep the water out and hides the 6x fixing holes each side !.

I can see the end in sight now...
