yeah it doesnt look too bad, i think you would have to make like a frame to go around the window if you where to mount it like i have. i think it would still look ok like just quite a bit of work.

Looks really nice!

again thanks its nice to have some one appreciate it. its almost finished now just got to fit the floor matting and a cubby box now, thats as far as im planning on taking it. ohh and decide on what to do with the roof.

not done a lot today scrubbed the inside of the roof and cleaned the windows thats about it, now looking into some way of sealing the rear door where the top meets the bottom.

Great thread Sam. Your attention to detail is brilliant. What is the colour and where did you buy the paint? Sorry if its in a bit of the thread I have missed.

:D thanks guys its always good to hear some compliments. the colour i believe is pennine grey it was brought online. its a landrover colour so should be relatively easy to find.
cheers Sam

spent the last couple of weekends getting a bit more done, finally got around to painting the wheels,

and some matting in the back,

along with the new bench,

and the front matting and centre cubby box,

also against everything I've previously said i brought me self a winch,

mile marker H12 running off ZF74 on a strange bumper never seen anything like this before mounts over the standard bumper from what i can see looks pretty heavy duty and weighs a ton was watching a arb bumper but went way over my budget so will keep an eye out but for the minute this one will do.
:D Sam

a H12 is a good winch. :)

There circa £1200 brand new with pump.

yeah hopefully it will be a good one, got it all unpacked today and seems i got lost in the moment and didn't notice its off what i suspect was a 200 Tdi and with mine being a 300 Tdi i need to replace the pulley and source a belt. hopefully it will be easy enough just got to find out if it is a aircon pulley thats used i presume it is as the power steering one would be too wide? any one got experience with this setup?
thanks Sam :(

right then decided i couldn't put it off any longer so cracked on with changing my rear diff pan its gone rusted through in two places and was ****ing out oil,

not my finest hour welding wise but hopefully do the trick,

all ready to reinstall and its raining so cracked on with the winch took it off the bumper so i could sand, prime and paint it.

hopefully ill get a clear spot weather wise to reinstall the axle tomorrow and maybe strip and clean the winch.

Cheers Sam :)

got me winch rebuilt today, few pics nothing to mention really nothing worn or broken inside just gave it a clean, paint and regrease.

as it was,

stripped down and cleaned internals,

terrible pic of the gearbox casing and motor mount took them back to bare metal and etched and two coats of gloss black and lacquer hopefully it wont get quite as corroded,

reassembled,

back in bumper,

cleaned and painted fairlead not sure wether to replace the cable with synthetic but going to enquire at some shows cant afford it at the minute.

thats all folks :tea: Sam

ok then, had a few issues regarding this winch but took the plunge yesterday and did some laning in it, great fun not too dirty though.

now onto the winch issues, basically its the blind leading the blind the winch came off a 200 tdi and ive modded the bracket to fit the 300tdi timing case but having trouble getting the belt to fit properly dont realy want to be spending £58 on the new bracket but the belt is too long without the idler pulley and too short with the idler pulley. first four seem to be the only people who deal with milemarker products and don't give a lot away photo wise. so if anyone has one fitted i would very much appreciate a photo of how its done.

well a couple of months have passed, and he's had some more work been persuaded to fit some side windows definitely makes it nicer to drive having less blind spots and lots more light inside but still cant make up my mind on whether it looks right only time will tell.

outlined,

removed strengthener,

one side in,

second side in,

a couple of other issues have popped up mainly the amount of oil leaks  wouldn't mind but both diff pinion seals are weeping and the gasket between the different casings on the transmission are leaking. not what i wanted paying ashcrofts prices but ill look further into them next weekend. on a lighter note is sorted the winch issue and it is now fully functioning and operational.:D
