probs with head lights

97' 300tdi.
just noticed a problem with me head lights, when i turn on either side lights, dipped beam or full beam, the blue full beam dash light comes on and if i select full beam full beam doesnt work.although headlights are lighting.
it has standard bulbs and haven't messed about with any wires lately
any ideas?

ta,been and had a fiddle about, connector into back of drivers headlight was loose, pushed on and problem was fixed!!
