Iv been building a bobtail rrc v8 think it's stormberg carbs on it got it up and running runs perfect when it's cold/warm but once it's hot it cuts out and won't start for 5-10 minutes then will only run for a few minutes any thoughts ? Thanks

Fuel evaporation? or insufficient fuel in the float chamber maybe, does the float chamber needle have any adjustment?
Yeah I thought it might be that too, they were bad for it weren't they? No solution for it either is there? Not sure about the needle il have a look,

Are the carb float chambers filling with fuel and staying full, is the fuel pump functioning ok? That would have been fitted with the electric type pump at the rear of the vehicle, I had one fail on my '77 RRC whilst I owned it, it was working some of the time but would stop with a spurious fault.
Do an output check of the fuel pump at the carbs.
And I had that RR for 11 years and never suffered fuel evaporation problems with the CD Strombergs, and believe me it was driven in some hot places.

It has a new fuel pump in it if it was that would it not just fire back up once it stalled? the pump is still working as it's situated right beside the passenger seat and I can see/ hear it and fuel is still returning to the tank. it runns perfect for about 15/20 minutes and that's it, after that be aswell pushing it

Have you checked the float bowls for water/dirt, ther may be crud in there that is obstructing the main jets, a bit of a long shot but worth a look.
When you are confident that the fuel system is ok, from the tank through to the carbs then you may need to look elsewhere, check out your electrics, is it electronic ignition or points and coil? Sometimes a coil can have a temperature related internal insulation breakdown, it may also be a failing condensor. Check out all the wiring connections concerned with the ignition circuitry.
They are a pretty basic old lump and it should not be too difficult to sort.

Yeah carbs have been off and cleaned it's electronic ignition new coil leads plugs cap rotor arm and pickup, fairly confident it's fueling as plugs are dry if it was a spark issue the plugs would be wet?

Theres quite a few reasons that can be found in the books for engine issues, but none for yours :(.
For example stating and stalling immediately, most state checking the stuff that's been mentioned already, but one is a blocked fuel tank vent.
With a Disco there are vents up to the fuel fill hose then 'vent to air' via the fuel cap. Within the the screw fuel cap there's a couple of diaphragm style valves that have been known to have issues.
Anyway the above may not be applicable to you, but having a look at the tank vent maybe.
