Problem with Island 4x4 order

Hi there folks. I'm having a bit of a problem with a UK supplier (Island 4x4). I ordered some parts from them on 23 March. Since then all my enquiries concerning the status of my order have been ignored, met with evasive answers, etc. So I decided to call them on Monday morning, only to be told that the person in charge of orders (Sam) was on holiday and wouldn't be back at work until Wednesday (this) morning. I've just called them again and asked to speak to Sam, but now they're saying that his flight has been delayed and he won't be returning to the UK until tomorrow. When I asked the person who answered the phone if he could check my order for me, he replied that he's only been working there for three weeks and doesn't know how to find order information or tracking details. This all seems rather strange. I'm worried that I've been ripped off. Has anyone else had this kind of experience with Island 4x4?
 
I wouldn't be happy with that. If there only guy who can deal with orders is away how are they running the business. Keep calling.
 
They do need to sort their customer service out or they will loose customers.

I pass Island 4x4 every day and there is a new guy in there and he took about 30 mins to sort me 2 service kits out a couple of weeks back, he was so slow.

I did hear Sam saying he was going away on holiday at Easter so I don't think your being lied to about that. It seems Sam is the only one who can sort problems, it took 2 months to get my dodgy alternator replaced after I kept chasing them every week, I was constantly told only Sam can sort it and eventually he did.
 
I've dealt with them a few times, but when I had some V8 valve stem seals that didn't fit they completely ignored me, so I went elsewhere, never been back.

i bought of them towards end of march , they were the best price and it arrived pretty quick if that helps with your concerns :) They even rung me about order to check that I knew about what i was ordering
 
I have always had good service from them
When my last order was late they checked with the courier and rang me back straight away... no problem.:)
 
used them quite a few times too.

they aren't the fastest with support, and you might need to prod, but they do seem to get there.

had a check and it was sam who i've dealt with before.

probably worthwhile waiting until he's back and then having a moan at him ;)
 
seems no wonder sam had a break eh..
must have bought stuff from them over the years, but found my local shop much easier to deal with if stuffs not as required.
yep, i know this dont help mandy out, but as T.O.P. says, give sam some phone calls to get it sorted..

just hope the couriers do there stuff next..
 
Phoned yesterday morning and finally spoke to Sam who sorted the problem out and made sure my order was dispatched yesterday afternoon. I now have a tracking number :)
Many thanks to all for the reassurance and thank goodness Sam came back from his holiday :)
