Hi Henry_b
Its a car thats for sale and its over presurising the cooling system according to the advert,
could this be the head gasket, its a good price so was thinking about buying it, it dosen`t say its losing coolant,
have not spoke to the guy yet, thought i`d ask the question and see whats involed first.
thanks.

If the cooling system is over-pressurising then its more than likely its because of a failed head gasket, so its certain to be loosing coolant via the expansion tank cap. :(
But there is a simple test that can be done to confirm that it is a gasket, Google for more info on that

Steer clear, you can get headgasket test kits off of ebay see here https://www.google.com/aclk?sa=L&ai...j5utaIi5b1AhXZgP0HHRx0AZAQ9aACegQIARBp&adurl=

I wouldn't give it the time of day to be honest ;)

The TDV6 isn't known to suffer HG failure, at least not without help.

However there's no need to buy a faulty D3, as they're cheap enough for one that's working.

Also be aware that the D3 is a money pit, even when it's working correctly. ;)
