For my first time, I'm about to change the head gasket on my ex-military 110 2.5d NA and I need a little advice:

- I just need to change the gasket, when removing it, can I leave the injectors and glow plugs in place?

- Can anyone tell me the head torque setting?

- When refilling the coolant, where do you refill it, is it via the radiator plug or via the header tank, and is there a requirement to bleed the system?

Thank you for your help, it is very much appreciated.

Done a head gasket before? A 12j engine is as basic as it gets but I suggest down loading instruction manual.
or get a book.
In answer to your questions
Injectors and plugs can remain in position.[ good time to change a plug if you think dodgy] seal off any open pipes connections.
Torque setting and sequence in the book. You can re use head bolts.
Refill at the radiator with cap off expansion tank, when full run engine with heater in the on position and top up as air comes out. Heater warms up and you should be good.

Great, thank you, and very much appreciated. Yes, changed many petrol Series and MGBs but never a diesel engine. I thought it would be similar but wanted to make sure.

Not a lot of difference between a series engine petrol/diesel when it comes to head gasket, also much the same a 12j. Clean connections most important with diesel.
