pressing bushes

right i spent an hour yesterday doing my hardest work out this year, on??


pressing bushes into my new cranked trailing arms,
i ended up removing all the paint inside the holes


and with my biggest vice and my extra long handle on, (plus a scaffy bar ;) )
i did this

is there an easier way to press them in witht the tools i have (normal tools)

To remove them is easy, burn the rubber out, the inner metal sleeve will easily push out once the rubber gets hot, then as said before, hacksaw through the outer metal sleeve, this will alow it to be easily drifted out.
also as already mentioned, fit the medium hardness polybushes, they just push in by hand.

Doesnt look like the exploading bush scaremongers are in today :)

Well I've just done both radius arms and link bar on my Disco no problem, you will however find it easier if you saw through the outer metal part of the bush in 2 places around 90º to each other. the biggest problem is not sawing into the main casting too much.

(Yes, the black smoke from burning the bushes out doesn't go down too well with the next door neighbour, especially if they have any washing out!!)
