Poxy or Acid Etch?

What do you prefer and why?

What metal primer do you use, a good bond, such as acid etch, or an epoxy to act as a rust inhibitor?

Ok. I like etch primer as a first coat, then high build primer.

Why etch primer rather than an epoxy such as buzzweld or POR?

To be honest, I have never used the other two. I might have used a version of them unknowingly though. I like etch as I think it gets a better grip as a primer. Just my opinion.

The write up on epoxy primers makes them look fantastic . It could just be marketing hype tho .

Bare metal I go with electrox. I've even put electrox on spots where I've airbrushed back but haven't got total clean steel. That may be a silly move but seems to stick well. On top of electrox will then be epoxy mastik- also bilt hamber. I've used electrox in past and it's been ideal. Any clean plates going in get coated in it.
