power steering rack knacked??/

as above,i think my steering rack is on way out,it is using fluid and i can see fluid at the drivers side pipes etc im sure its not a leak at pipe as the steering can be heavy some times when parking,so im biting the bullet and geting another one,now it looks a bit of a bugger to do but im more than up for the job,anyway question is anybody done this on a td4 and how hard/easy plus any tips would be great
