Hi all that are reading this

I am struggling with locating a power steering pipe that goes from the pump to the box. It is for a 1984 V8 but with a 1988 engine and pump. I can't fit the original as the bend to the pump catches on the bracket where as on the 88 the bend is tighter but the pipe is knackered.

I have found a 200tdi pipe for sale new, will this fit my system or will the threads or unions be wrong?

get a pipe made up ? wait for the farm machinery to take a dump and ask the pirtek guy when he turns up ??

84 is imperial if steering box is 3 bolt, but fittings on later engine is metric..

so you womt get one..so get one made..

hydrulic shop should be quite cheap..no more than 15-20 if they got the ends and dont have to braze them up..

i have had made up fittings that bolt into steering box and pump (and in my case the hydroboost braking system) they use the correct fitting for say the steering box, but then go to male 1/4 bsp..same on the rest..

this allows me to use standard 1/4 bsp female pipes that cost feck all to be made and means i can carry a spare that fits all my pipes..(pump to hydroboost to steering box to cooler )

i use my local shop..but thats not local to you..any hydraulic shop should be able to do..(though not nobile as the fittings, if doing same as me , need to be brazed..ie steering box to 1/4 male, which is done in steel)

re red one...she my daily drive at moment due to having just replaced clutch and starter on da white one to find ny "recon" starter is fecked!!
it took over 2 days full on to replace it!!(its in the very bottom of v ,under all the manifolds, supercharger etc, bolts on via rear of engine BEHIND flywheel..)

not a happy bunny..though red on is fun , what with 400hp odd and now working flappy padel gearchange..
