Power steering clicking noise gets worse on full lock

Hi, my TD4 Freelander has started to make a clicking noise, worse when cold, from osf in the engine bay. initially i thought it was a bearing on a pulley on the way out, ie. drying up, however when i turn onto full lock the clicking noise intensifies. i think it might be something wrong with the power steering pump.

anybody got any experience of similar?
