Freelander 2 power steering hose

Hi,
New member, joined today.

Just had power steering hose LR001099 and LR029185 pipe feed and return fitted today on my Freelander 2.
The parts which were fitted are not genuine Land Rover parts.I don't know if this would have any effect on the end result (Hose coming off)

Reason for fitting the above parts were the Genuine LR001099 hose from Land Rover Parts Department are out of stock, and could be for a while.

The mechanic told me when he was bleeding the air out by turning the steering wheel left and right on full lock the hose kept coming off.

Is there a reason for the hose to come off?

Does anybody know where I could source a Genuine LR001099 hose.

As I have no car to drive

I've had and heard of issues with none OE PS pipes and hoses . It's best to use OE or LR boxed high pressure PS pipes and hoses. I have seen an aftermarket hose burst, and low quality solid lines have such a poor surface finish that the seals leak, and often the pipes aren't the right shape for a correct fit.
Where did the parts come from? Not cheap Ebay hopefully, as most of the low cost aftermarket pressure fittings from there are rubbish.
Sometimes genuine LR parts come up on ebay though, which will be fine. Otherwise you'll need to try all the LR parts suppliers like Matlings, Famous 4x4, or the ½ dozen other suppliers which specialise in genuine or OE LR parts.

I got mine from Maltings.

I got mine from Maltings as well, wasn't the genuine Land Rover parts I bought as they are not available to buy.
The mechanic who fitted them for me reckoned that he wasn't getting a good connection on the high pressure hose side,but the pipe feed and return line was okay.
I will have to try and source LR001099 Genuine Part.
If the hose keeps coming off when turning the wheel full lock left and right, I take it the aftermarket part is not 100%?
I will try some of the suppliers you have mentioned later. (OE LR parts what does that mean?) all new to me

OE means original equipment supplier, so an OE part is what LR would supply, just not in an expensive LR box or bag.

Hello, joined because i seem to have added my name to the list of owenrs struggling with LR001099 issue. My mechanic has replaced 1 hose with an OE part but cant track down an OE LR001099. Has anyone successfully fitted an aftermarket one and if so where from?

I unsuccessfully fitted a cheap one from an ebay seller, but I couldn't stop it leaking, so I bought an OE replacement from an LR parts supplier, although I forget which one now. I've had no problems with the OE hose.
