Started my project this week and hopefully getting to grips with the welding next week.
Two jobs I need to do this week are Remove the Power Steering Box as its leaking badly and secondly replace a bulb in the front fog light.

RAVE procedure describes how to remove the power steering box and makes mention that the coolant has to be drained and the cooling pipes running alonf the chassis rail needs to be removed, looking at it, this seems a little over the top but may be correct.
Anyone removed the box without dropping everything else?

The Discovery is a facelift model and the Fog light is mounted behind the front bumper, how does it release?. The version of RAVE I have covers the Pre Facelift model.

3rdly, Anyone local to Glasgow know the best place to buy sheet steel for welding?

Any help appreciated.

if you undo the 2 x 10 mm headed bolts securing coolant pipes to chassis front member you should be able to tie pipes up enough to get box past without draining coolant , i do but its not fun refitting box 2 people will be a big help, fog light has 2 x retaining screws on rear of light

Excellent, looks like you were sitting waiting for the questions, but feel let down, you couldn't answer 3rd point.

Cheers James
