Hi all i maybe being a little doopy here but ive searched and cant find any " how to guides to tweaking the power screw and boost diaphram" i saw it is ment to be pretty simple but wouldnt mind just readin a guide to doing it. And my engine is a 300tdi any help greatfully recieved.

Okay i have just been to do it, and i have aircon and am i right in thinking the fuel pump is under neath the air con??.
Also as i dont use the aircon can i take it out?

not quite sure as i dont have air con but it does sit there somewhere yer, you should be able to get at it without taking that off

I would be interested in trying this. My vehicle has got really gutless of late and I've serviced it any everything. It would be nice to think it just needs a tweak to get some of the grunt back.

I am going to, but whilst im there i wouldnt mind getting rid of me air con as i dont use it, and i havent got a belt on it either hopefully it just unbolts and discoonect the wires and pull the hoses out lol ;)

your meant to have it sucked out with a machine so it doesnt harm the atmosfear

and it should be under pressure

here ya go i been a taken a pic

the red circle shows a cap if you take that off there is a screw you can wind in for low boost improvment

the screw the red arow points to is the power ajustment screw and give the most noticable improvment as you turn this up you will need to turn your idle down

Just be careful with the aircon, the refrigerant needs to be removed properly as if it sprays in your eyes you will be blinded it's that dangerous as it's under pressure in the system.

So. You're proposing to make some potentially damaging adjustments to your engine but you don't know where the injector pump is? Tread carefully or you'll be looking at some expensive repairs. You might do well to have a read of this http://www.stonefisk.com/doc-arc/def_man/ThermoGuard_Tdi_Tuning_Rev.2.pdf

Don't try and remove the air con gas yourself as it is under great pressure but not only that it is refrigerant gas which if skin comes in contact with it it can give you a nasty burn sort of like frost bite!..plus it is poisonous if you breathe it in. so its not nice stuff.... I strongly suggest that you have a garage remove the gas othe than that its plain sailing just make sure you are carefull when taking off the wiring/ pipes

i bet all that gas has leaked out ;)

do it outside (catching the gas in a ballon :p) and stand back

you can always give the diaphram a 90 degree turn and the star wheel under
that a 'tweak'

google it and read

i learnt so much doing that
