Ok guys I'm after raising the performance / mpg of my 110 TD5 and I was wondering whether you guys had any ideas where the best place to get stuff is and what are the most important modifications. My current plan is to buy:

PSI Plug in Power upgrade
K&N Filter
Decat Exhaust
Mid Silencer Replacement Pipe

I figured this would give better mpg, sound and performance. anyone done any of these mods could give me pros and cons or alternatives. I now the intercooler would make a difference but its not really in the budget for the truck.

done the replacement pipe to my disco td5, improved low down torque and removed flat spot when pulling away, sounds great but no improvement on mpg.

Remap, Remap Remap. forget a plug in box. get the ECU tuned to the vehicle (and dont think this will improve the mpg, as it just makes the vehicle much better to drive and you'll use all the extra power). then K&N or similar. Forget the exhaust mods until you have done the intercooler. Its OK improving the exhaust flow but if you dont improve the air intake whats the point

i need to do the exhaust anyway. its replacement rather than improvement and also exhaust note lol. I like it to sound nice. I'm not some kinda speed freak and its a 110 so i won''t be throwing it around too much ;). PLus an intercooler is out of budget really unless you are suggesting intercooler instead of remap?

How much worse are the plug in compared to remaps? I only really want to bring it in line with other 4x4s. PLus theres the added advantage of taking the plug in box out if you sell etc. I was looking at remaps and they all seem to expensive does anyone have experience of both?

egr bypassed, center box replaced with straight pipe, sounds nice outside can drone on abit inside [ bit like the mrs ] turbo seems to spool up quicker,td5alive remap next on the agenda:D

How much was ur egr kit? How easy was it to fit? Is it just a blanking plate?

Have had mine remapped, fuel economy improved slightly (but was already getting 30+ mpg out of my baby (defender 90), had it 'de-catted', more air flow noise but did improve performance.
Did have a K&N filter but due to its closeness to the air mass meter the oil on the K&N fried it. Therefore switched to a performance Britpart filter (no oil!) much better.
She pretty much flys now, but I'm a good girl and don't use the extra performance unless I need to, hence my fuel consumption increased.

Re-map, EGR removal kit, De-cat down pipe, K&N filter (but going to change to a foam better filtering but just as much air), Silcon hoses and TD5 Alive's exhaust system on my 04 disco.

More power so don't have to change down a gear at low revs, and will give most car drivers a fright at lights and roundabouts but only when in a playful mood.

EGR, air filter and de-cat pipe would be the first mods that won't break the bank.

Just had to fit boost box as it goes into limp mode , 40-70 goes like the wind , tornado exhaust has a beaut sound when floored , 2 stage mapping has made fuel consumption go up but you only live once, well worth having done dave.
