Hi newbie so hope you can help and I can future contribute.

Hi the mechanic said it is the under bonnet fuel pump that has failed.
Just a few questions.

I read that if the in tank one fails the under bonnet one can keep the car going. If the under bonnet one fails does the engine die like mine or should the in tank pump be able to keep it going?

For a 2001 TD4 is WQB100480L the correct part number?

Is it the same pump under the bonnet that goes under the arch on earlier models?

many thanks for this as 2 days and I miss it.

The later TD4s only had the under arch pump so I guess it makes sense that the same pump mounted under the bonnet would run the car on its own. The earlier one does look the same but I am not certain if they are.

the pumps are weak and a ****e design , the older system both pumps[low pressure] work from the same circuit, the under the wheel arch mod is not a lot better as its in a crap place. . . . .if they fail or go weak then you dont get enough fuel to the hp pump . . . . .
