Hi,
I've done a lot of searching and I think the BCU on my 53 plate TD5 Discovery is playing up. The fault is intermittent and I can go weeks without a problem but the fault is more prevalent of late. I get a cluster of warning lights come on - ABS, Traction Control, Hill descent, brake failure, self levelling suspension etc. When these lights are on the abs etc. doesn't work - brakes excepted - and when they're off, everything is normal. I've been googling for someone to hopefully solve the problem. Spoke to Turners, weird conversation, and tried top call CallRova without success. Any suggestions welcomed.

If it's intermittent you could suspect the P-clip on top of the transmission is helping the loom to chafe. Common fault and not easy to see. As it happens kind of internally.
If yours is an auto.
If you're old skool like me it's easier to look at this than fanny around with the electrickery stuff!

Sorry, ignore all this, thought you meant you had the gearbox lights up. duuuh:oops::oops::oops::oops:

Hi, all those warnings are managed by the SLABS ECU also the BCU doesnt affect the ABS functions, IMO this has nothing to do with the BCU, it can be a bad contact on the SLABS ECU power supply or earth which would bring on all the SLABS related warnings or the ECU is making tricks, not uncommon.

Hi,
Thanks for this. Have spoken to Rick-the-Pick and he will look at both BCU and ECU to see what's going on.

You need to plug in a diagnostic tool into the vehicle's OBD socket to watch the inputs when the symptom occurs not to check ECUs just like that and checking the BCU for something in which is not involved it's feckless cos it's 90% that the probem is on the SLABS ECUs wiring
