I have two unidentified unconnected connectors on my 1997 Defender 110 300 Tdi.

Image 1 shows a connector that is resting on the rear fuel tank left-hand side just above fuel gauge. What is this connector supposed to be? Has it got anything to do with the sedimentor (which is not fitted to my Defender).

Image 2 shows a connector that is respectlessly resting on the gearbox tunnel in the car, rear of gear sticks - what is this for? Has it anything to do with the EGR processing unit present under the cubby box?

Cheers mates.

wiring has a few connectors unsed depending on engine ,country its going etc ,dont know exactly but you dont need them ,sedimentor have no wiring to them

One next to the tank looks like it has decent size of wires going into it so could be for a intank fuel pump in V8 models!?!? What colours are the wires, both look black in the image.

Can't help with the one behind the gearstick.

the one just behind the gearstick could be for diagnostic purposes, i too wondered what mine was and found the answer eventually. Although now that ive double checked your picture, yours is different to mine. I have a 2004 td5 110 and mine is more like a 10 pin connector thinymajig......

Not diagnostics, OBD socket your talking about. That is a lighting connector or something like that, could be for a 12v socket, feed, earth and a light feed from the sidelight electrics to illuminate it.

Thanks for the answer! Yes, they are both black irl. Could be the pump, yes. But I thought they customised the harness for each type (e.g. EGR 300 Tdi's have got some wiring not present on non-EGR's).

Yes, there is also one of those under the cubby on this 300 Tdi as well - but that one is for certain an ODB for the EGR box. This one though... no idea...

Pop'ed the lid open today and found there are three pins deeply buried in a tubular hole. Don't know if that helps with the identification.
