Germans have a good sense of homour I never realised until:

We had a umpa band playing at a model flying comp in Stadsteinach Baveria World Air Scale Games 2000. Even the Germans and our old friend Dirk stuck cloth in his ears and pronounced that this is not German music Zis is Baverian music. This was after many too many drinks if I remember we marched in a line 3 miles back to the hotel while each holding homade apple schnapps one fella was lost in a ditch en route the hotel locked us out and the next morning flying wasn't so much fun... luckily I did pants in the last round and never made the finals as I would never have survived.

My bro was a Brit Mech on a Yank base in Germany I think around the south East I visited him a few times and travelled around Germany flying model rc planes in neustrelitz, stadsteinach (probably spelt wrong) and travelled through many times en route to Czech flying and holidaying in Croatia. I like Germany alot!!

One quick tale.

I am an ex squaddy. (just been made redundant).

When I had first met my wife, the squadron had been I. Bavaria. My wife came to collect me from the squadron bar to gasp in amazement after seeing a sink plunger stuck to my ass!

Okay we have Landy Zone International Rescue, yes you did read it correctly.

Now it is good will based and looking at the map and considering it is Christmas- if you take a look

if you could go vertical and then 90 degrees across to James it could work. even if we asked for relays.

Any which way but loose, I've stuck a snow flake for current location.

I'm currently doing other stuff, if you can have a quick look I know discomikey has a trailer- but it would need fuel paid for

Failing that we could look at relay LZIR if it will drive in 4th or possibly a tow relay.

I honestly don't know yet- but we could see who is available and go from there.

what about Kris in the courier section as another posibility?

Okay currently the chap is in Alcester which is down the road from coldcomfort which is ironic.

Now onto the situation

Ashcrofts are closed till WED 2nd January. 80-100 miles away-But Autoland and Jai Landrover are there

James Martin is 130 miles away up A46 but has offered to rebuild the box

Discomikey or borris113 to James Martin is 300+ miles round trip

Discomikey or borris113 to jai landrover is 230-300 miles round trip

So there are the choices if it is drivable in 3rd and 4th we could have people along the way possibly if it stops

MHM says smurf500 may be able to help and texted him would be 172 miles round trip to Jai landrovers/autoland/ashcrofts

I would like to point out that 25-30 miles is the accepted radius, for distances over this costs such as fuel would only be fair to expect to pay

Hello hello landyzone international rescue....!

Update.

Many many thanks to every body who has contributed to this thread.

I set off first thing this morning heading up to James gaff...

Half way into the journey second gear started to lock up hence nearly putting my head through the windscreen!

Then after pushing through the last eight miles of the journey I thought disaster nearly struck...

Through the local town where James is based second fear simply refused to play.
R.I.P first gear
R.I.P second gear

The old girl then refused any gear bang in the middle of the town centre!

Finally third gear was selected and then off we went again. The old girl minute by minute was turning into a rev and go!

I finally made it to James gaff. Then reverse finally collapsed.

The old girl is now naked. She is showing her old age. James has worked miracles stripping her naked right down to all of her normally hidden parts. (I will try to post pics).

She is an ALPHA box. It's all about the A's, B's, C's and D's. (gearbox identification for internal parts Catolouge).

James pointed out to me that if I were to have a D identification number then the internal dog teeth would look like coffins and "suck the gears together" preventing jumping out of gear.

I am praying to the sweet baby Jesus that ashcrofts will not only have the internal gearbox parts but also the 30% transfer box upgrade parts in stock.

Oh did I forget to mention that the old girls arches have finally gone all limp. Her rear arch is touching the rear tyre. Looks like her great stance has finally gone south! She reminds me of a pair of tits sagging and reaching for the belly button!

Phew.

Now I have booked a B&B.

I have showered and in the greyhound inn. I will now quickly phone James again to invite him for a much deserved punt from me!

Is there a logo for LZIR. ??? If not give me a couple of weeks for the tension to settle at home as the mrs still does not know about our new edition to the family. Then when the wife has warmed to the old girl a fantastic logo will be produced. Maybe we can have a couple of designs for all to judge?
