hi, PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY PROBLEM
i went out to my car this morning and pressed my keyfob button to unlock the car and absolutely NOTHING happened! i pressed it again + again still nothing. the little red light on key fob kept lightin up and no action from car. i unlocked drivers door with key then opened door and turned off alarm that was now going!! couldn't unlock any other doors even from inside or anything. could still start car but needed to open back two doors to get my 2 kids in!! so stood in driveway having a stress instead as i was trying to get my 2 year old to nursery!!!! looked in manual and nothing is really helping me. my partner has tried as well and all we keep doing is setting the alarm off!! the neighbours have loved me today!
Please can anyone help me in anyway as i really have no idea whats up with it and i'm sure it will cost me a fortune if i end up having to take it to garage!! PLEASE HELP ME! i've got a 2001 Y reg discovery ES model! thanks JO Oh and i have had a new battery put in today already!!

I put an answer in your other thread.. have you re-programmed the key after changing the battery? It will tell you in the manual how to do that.. would post it here but not sure if it's the same procedure as on the discovery 1

i've looked through my manual book and unless i'm been really stupid i just can't see it anywhere about reprogramming the key fob!! i'm in a right pickle!! maybe i've got a manual missing then!! i'm looking in the owners handbook, is that the same thing???

Disco 2 key/fob dosen't need re-synchronizing after the battery has been replaced unlike the D1.

It has been known for the receiver which is located above the headlining between the rear sunroof and the boot door to go faulty. The drivers door lock is the master so any problems with the other doors (slaves) may be a result of a faulty drivers door lock.

oh!! well thanks for your help but if it is what your sayin then it sounds expensive!!!! excellent!!!
thanks anyway and hopefully i can get in my car soon!!!

I know it doesn't solve your key fob problem, but there is a way to get into your car WITHOUT the alarm being triggereed.

It's called EKA (Emergency Key Access) and required the car's security code to be input via the drivers door.

This would at least allow you to drive your car without alerting the whole neighbourhood.;);)
