Please can you help?

I have a 1991 110 V8 with SU carbs, its started leaking fuel out of the off side carb vent tube on idle.

I have changed the float needle seat and float needle. Ive just refitted the carb and it still leaks fuel out of the vent tube.

Does any one have any ideas how I can fix this problem?

Any help would be great.

Does the float actually float? Have you checked that it hasn't a hole in it and sinking, thus giving you an overspill?

I will take to carb off again when i get home and see if it does or not and double check the needle is not stuck.

I have just started the Land Rover, it started to leak fuel, gave the carb a few taps with a hammer and it stopped leaking. I then started and stopped the Rover 5 times and no leaking fuel

You are very close to becoming a fully qualified LandRover Hammerologist!
