Good afternoon Ladies and Gents, been doing some reading and learning from old threads. My family is going to get a bit bigger in about 7 months so i'll be needing a bigger vehicle (Currently got an Astra estate), and i'm thinking about a 110. I'll be needing at least 6 seats, room for 2 dogs (one of them a huge Mastiff), and room for all the other stuff we cart round with us. I will no doubt ask some extremely stupid questions, but i've got thick skin, so hopefully I'll cope. That'll do for now, please be gentle with the new boy, :D:D:D:D.

Thanks for that, would forward facing rear seats solve my problem?? The kids are 15, 6, 2 and -7month at the moment.
Ratty, my budget is still not confirmed, it all depends how much I get for my bike, my missus's car, and how much I can scrape together. I know it's a "how long is a piece of string question", but for a good condition (Don't want to/know how to, have to do much work straightaway), reasonable miliage 110 probably 8-9 year old 110 fetch? I've looked on several websites, but there doesnt to be any cosistency in the pricing, cheers.

You would need some lock and fold forward facing seat which are bloody pricey. (summit along the lines of £350 EACH. 2 of them would then fill your rear load space meaning that your dogs would be without room. You may get away with using one lock and fold on one side and putting the dogs the other side though.

I would expect to pay £5k-£10k for a roughly 2000 110 csw. (depending on condition, mileage and wether bought private or from a garage).

Well been to look at a couple of 110's today with the other half, and we don't think the seating will be an issue, all I've got to do now is sell a bike a car and see how much brass I can get together, and then i'll be sorted.:D

:welcome2:
only probs i can see is that kids car seats need a 3 point seat belt and side facing seats only have lapbelts, and kids under certain weight/ height have to have correct kids seats these days, bloody pain unless you get a really old series like mine in which case kids over 3 yr's can be thrown in the back with the dogs:D

As they can in any vehicle with side facing seats. even Disco's In fact it's illegal for a child to use a child seat or lapbelt on a side facing seat, but not illegal to be unrestrained on one?? (The law really is an ass??) But as the OP is looking for a 110 CSW It shouldn't be a problem for him.

Welcome Myrtle,

Got a feeling the height criteria for booster seats is sub 135 cm.
my understanding is you cannot put boosters or standard child seats on side facing chairs.

With a 110 you've got 4 forward facing with lap and diagonals, potentially 2 forward facing with lap belts and 2 side facing bench seats.

I don't know how you can fit everybody in unless your Missus sits on the rear bench seats.

Good luck.

That's true but if you have side facing seats fitted then any child can sit in them but they mustn't be restrained??

Really?

I honestly thought that if you had seat belts fitted you had to use them.

You mean to say I've been depriving my lad of the joy of travelling in the back for the last two years for no good reason?

Is this not right then?? Me - Driving, Missus - Passenger seat, 6yr old on booster seat, 2 yr old in suitable car seat, Baby (here in 7month) in suitable car seat and 15 year old chucked in the back with the dogs. Have I overlooked something??:confused:

No. I think we all wrongly assumed that when you said 'kids' that they were all quite young. Yes a 15 year old will be fine in the back.

Sorry Grimmer you've lost me, I still don't see how you're going to position 2 suitable car seats and 1 booster on the 2 remaining forward facing seats with lap and diagonal belts.

2nd eldest can go in the centre with a lapbelt on his booster seats. Law says if there are more passengers than seatbelts they can be carried without breaking the law

Booster and car seat either side of back seat, and (According to the Missus) you can get car seats which can be secured with just a lap belt, that will go in the middle.
