Planning on fitting one of these:

Looks like excellent value however, the advert doesn't specify whether the touch-screen uses resistive or capacitive technology, the latter being much better.

One problem you might face in a defender is that the radio is mounted at an angle, so the flip out screen will want to pop out and lie back. Is there room for it to do that? You would want to know if the "park" position can be adjusted in the settings.

I put something like this in my Discovery and while it was a good novelty item, the menus were confusing and the sound quality was terrible, but that could be due to the speakers which I didn't change.

Apart from all that, its exactly the sort of thing I plan to put in my 110 as music quality will be relatively unimportant (its a V8), I will just be listening to talk radio and might hook up a reverse camera sensor and such like.

Ooh look - it says adjustable viewing angle, so the parking position of the screen might not be a problem.

i think it might be the resistive type, i shall drop them a question and ask.

I plan to put a mud console in at some point and currently i dont have the original radio holder. The landy came with a piece of painted black wood as the radio holder, havnt got round to changing it yet haha

The plus point for me is the GPs as i planned on using my iPad or iPhone, but then i thought there is no chance of me hearing it over the sound anyway unless it was plugged directly into the speakers.

There are quite o few others for similar prices or a little bit more on ebay, so may take a good look around an compare them. Something i did notice was that even tho the the pictures have the GPs icon on it, the model they are supplying may not have the gPS function.

Yes the touch pen tells you its resistive I think. Not very practical while driving, but you never know it might just be in the bundle because its cheap.

It probably comes with a GPS app but no maps or out of date maps. So you have to work out how to update the maps. Perhaps ask that as well.

I'm looking at the Android head units, but they are more money, and the one example I have seen is double-din.

Looks great but I would search for some reputable reviews first. I will get an Alpine head unit for mine, I have been using Alpines for many years and love em but some cheaper brands are just as good and practical.

I went for the Pioneer apradio.... cheap unit, excellent sound and docks with your iphone to allow you to use a range of apps on radio screen when docked..... only issue is that it has no cd etc it purely runs either as a radio or music on your docked device.... also has camera input for my rear camera and built in gps... however they are big old beasts but didn't worry me with my dash but if you have an iphone/ipad/ipod they are great
