Hello all. Will do my best to be brief.

Purchased my car (55 plate Range Rover SC) 10 days ago.

So far I've uncovered half the audio kit has been wet in the past at some point (usual leaking tailgate issues). I've replaced the seal which as cured the leaking, checked the sunroof drains and installed a water shedder. Have also replaced the DVD Changer and Bluetooth module due to faults and these are now both working. However something else is now going on.

Since disconnecting the battery the following issues have cropped up. Was all working before...

- The volume dial on the display doesn't work but the diagnostics screen shows it is functioning. Steering wheel volume controls work fine.
- I've lost my voice recognition. The button on the steering wheel works and displays 'phone' but holding it down does nothing and I hear no beep.
- The rear seat DVD entertainment works but I can't control it using the touch screen from the drivers/passanger seat. Only the remote works to control it. When I touch the 'TV-DVD' soft button the screen doesn't change at all.
- Same as above for the 'AUX' soft button.
- Holding down the bottom left musical note hard key I can see the volume settings come up, but when I try and adjust them nothing happens at all, the level graphics don't move and the settings stay the same.
- No sat nav voice but level is set to 1 and I can't change that as per the above.

Besides this I have sound so not convinced it's an amp related issue. The radio works well and sounds good. All the hard buttons on the unit work as per the diagnostics screen.

So I'm stuck now. I'm thinking it could have all gone pear shaped due to the system not shutting down fully when the battery was disconnected. I've tried a few more battery disconnects and positive/negative battery lead resets but no joy.

Any suggestions? I'm quite happy to buy another display unit, intergrated head unit, HK Logic 7 amp etc, but which one?

At my wits end now so suggestions appreciated.

Bit of an update. I was fiddling with the MOST test screen and managed to get the volume knob working. Thing is I'm not sure what I did as I was just pressing soft buttons and experimenting. Don't really want to mess about with it to much as I don't understand it and could cause more issues, but I'm leaning towards this being a MOST config issue. Not sure if anyone out there with a fully functional L322 Supercharged from 2006 could photograph their MOST diagnostic pages?

Damn , nobody's hit on your thread!
There's a few on here with that model bus.... o_O
Yeah... I guess this one is a bit of a mystery to most. I've been struggling to find any engineers documentation for the system. Found a few documents online but nothing really in depth enough to help.

Anyway the good news is it's now working again! It was something to do with the MOST system but all my fibre optic reliant modules were good so it was a software or settings quirk. I got it working by pressing 'Reset MOST netservices', 'ID' and 'Send' on the diagnostic screen. I've no idea what I did or how I did it but on this occasion I got lucky.

I think what happened was the system could see the various modules but somehow lost sight or sync with some of the memory components. When I pressed the buttons above it started some sort of hexadecimal scan that looked different to the usual scrolling text (all the text was white and was scanning the system in numerical order - hard to explain). In other words I think I asked it to scan every possible 'address', it found the features/modules and all started working again.

Very hard to explain all this so sorry if we have any computer geeks out there laughing at me right now. Do feel free to correct me.

It does make sense to reboot and reattach itself to other components. I lean towards things being overly complicated now a days.. My volvo v50 has a six disc changer in the dash. Fibre this and fibre that.. The player breaks itself when reconnected to its battery. Therefore renders itself useless.. It has to be changed for another system the same.. No chance of a different system. As it is also the display for the heating and other stuff. Brilliant idea:mad::(
Glad you've sorted it. ;)
