Hello friends,

It's been taking some time to prepare since I purchased her last December, but my TD4 FL1 is about to undertake it's first big trip... 4-5,000km. I have checked everything, put the inline thermostat in amongst things and the functional reliability so far, is better than I have been :(.

I have ordered GT200 for the dip beams, mainly for the pattern and penetration (thanks @Nodge68 for the posting elsewhere ) . That isn't my issue in mind . Does fitting LED's to the main benefit me at all? Or should I simply put another pair of GT200's in? I want the best full illumination but don't want to waste cash unnecessarily. What's the experience out there please?

Thanks again.

In my experience, no. You're better off with another set of high output H7 bulbs.
I've got Osram 64217 65 Watt Rallye bulbs in my FL2 main beams. These are very powerful at 2100 lumens, compared to the maximum 1650 lumens allowed for an H7 bulb.

Unfortunately the Osram 64217 has been discontinued for many years, but there are some equivalents available at a price, but you may think it's worth the expense?
