Hello, i introduced my self in this thread:
https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/hello-from-frankfurt-germany.338742/

Now, here is my first question:
I want to change the ignition to a electronic distributor, i found two of them, the 123-ignition (very expensive) an the one of Pertronix, Type D174510. I asked the company if this fits to my RR. They answered me the following:

"According to the manufacturer, the Pertronix D174510 fits 1976 and later Lucas 35D8 distributors with a flex shaft and vacuum advance. The listing is for North American market vehicles. We cannot guarantee fit on European models."

I know, i have the vacuum unit, but i dont know if i have the flex shaft, do somebody know that?

regards Gerd

Yes i will change the whole thing, the one i have is very good, but if i switch to electronic ignition, i will take the original one whit me while i travel long distance. Thank you very much! i will contact them tomorrow! :)

We have now installed the distributor- it was very tricky, because of the elctronics, which is mounted on the outside of the distributor.
we had to remove and install the distributor around 10 times, so that we finally could set the ignition. It woud be much better, to place the electronic part to a point outside the distributor.
Now, i will test it on the road for a certain time.
