Particulate filter

Can anybody tell me if the td5 engine has a particulate filter on it, and if so what is it?

Not in the UK it don't, particulate filter may be fitted if vehicle is used in harsh environments ie dust, sandy conditions, whether LR fit them as standard to their vehicles in other countries I don't know, I doubt it.

I thought a particulate filter was to catch what is coming out of the engine not what's going in?

you talking about the air filter for the motor or one for the cab,climate control heater/ac blower motor

I believe it does, a DPF (diesel particulate filter) is whats in place of a catalytic converter

Only modern diesels have particulate filters on the exhaust-system which have to be purged buy running the engine at a high RPM I believe, my wife's Merc is fitted with one, again I believe, as i'm not that interested in diesels

The filter used in a/c systems is a pollen filter which nether the D1 or 2 has.
