Hi all, new here...just bought a vouge 4.4 LPG 52 plate, the parking sensors dont work, the parking sensor button just flashes, any ideas please...

Chris

The flashing indicates a fault either withthe Parking Sensor ECU or one of the Sensors...

Most Common are the Rears, the wiring chaffs on the bumper inside and wears through....

Second most common is the ECU losing its head!

Welcome!

If you download RAVE (Land Rover service manuals etc) it should have instructions for checking the above. (And you may well need it in the future...)

Alternatively as per Wammers, use the old fashioned Landy parking sensor - tow bar ;)

I still can't park my RR in tight gaps. I get paranoid about how far back the tow bar is.

Don't worry the tow bar will always win :p

I had a modified Disco a couple of years ago; once a woman came to the door apologising for having hit it outside and wanted to exchange details.. Her Corolla had no recognisable front, and the discovery had some silver paint on the tow bar and bumper

(Disclaimer: I do not endorse the reversing into other vehicles (unless it's a Prius)

Turn your ignition on, put it in reverse and then go and put your ear to each parking sensor. You should hear a rhythmic ticking noise coming from each sensor. If any sensor doesn't emit the ticking then, check its wiring for chaffs, breaks and dodgy connections. If its wiring is intact, then the sensor is faulty. If none of the sensors tick, it is most likely the ECU that's failed.

Thanks to all of you...well most anyway, i have a class one so no probs reversing this little toy.....i just want everything to work right.
